From practical experience to an even better Sonic swing door

Not a completed project this time, but a look behind the scenes at Cepro. Based on real-world use, we continuously improve our products. Customer requests, installation experience and new insights ensure that we keep developing, even when a product is already performing well. Our Sonic swing door is a great example of this. Based on experience from various applications, we have further refined this door so it can be delivered even more complete and neatly finished.

The situation

The Sonic swing door is used in a wide range of industrial applications as an access point within a partition. Over the years, this door has been supplied with various options, such as a handle, door lever or locking system, depending on customer requirements.

In practice, some options were often added later in the process. While technically possible, this sometimes meant that components had to be installed afterwards.

At Cepro, we prefer not to deliver half-finished solutions. We aim to deliver products that are well thought-out and neatly finished from the start. For this reason, we reviewed how the Sonic swing door could be improved to consistently guarantee our trusted Cepro quality.

Our solution

Based on these insights, we redesigned and further developed the Sonic swing door. By adjusting the design and integrating frequently requested options, the door has been standardised.

The Sonic swing door is now supplied as standard with a door handle, lock case, strike plate and two uprights. The lock case is neatly integrated into the panel, while the strike plate is mounted in the supplied upright. This results in a clean and durable finish without surface-mounted components.

In addition, the door is equipped with external hinges, allowing it to open to nearly 180 degrees. Dampers prevent damage during opening and closing, while a closing strip with a rubber profile ensures controlled and smooth closing.
