Cepro insulation products are designed for welding, cutting and maintenance operations in industrial environments. They ensure controlled cooling of welds and/or provide ergonomic support to welders who work in awkward positions for extended periods. Our products comply with European safety standards and are available as sleeves, blankets and welding cushions.
What exactly are insulation products?
First, a brief explanation. Insulation products include various aids for welding operations: insulation sleeves, cooling blankets, welding mattresses and welding cushions. These are not everyday items. Not every welding company uses them, which makes them less well known than welding curtains or welding screens, for example.
Yet they are indispensable in situations where metal is preheated before welding. The weld must then cool down in a controlled manner. If this does not happen, the quality of the weld is not optimal and stresses can develop in the metal. A blanket or sleeve around the weld ensures that the heat is dissipated gradually.
In addition, welding cushions provide an ergonomic aid for welders who often work on their knees. They ensure a comfortable feeling during prolonged operations.
When are insulation products used?
Typical applications are found in pipeline welding in the oil and gas industry and offshore. Here, the quality of the weld is directly related to safety: pipelines are subjected to high pressure. Controlled cooling is then not a luxury but a necessity. Insulation products are also essential when joining thick steel plates in the heavy metal industry.

Materials and properties
All Cepro insulation products are manufactured from the same high-quality materials as our welding blankets, for example. On the contact side, there is a special fabric that does not easily emit smoke when exposed to heat. The filling is always glass needle felt, which ensures a comfortable feeling for the user and guaranteed insulating performance.
The products are:
Flexible: they adapt to different shapes and situations.
Fire-safe: made from flame-retardant material.
Insulating: they absorb heat so that the welded section cools down gradually.
For the aforementioned oil, gas and offshore industries, we supply coated versions based on silicone. Water and oil then have no effect on the performance, so that the product always delivers effective results.
Standard or fully customised insulation products
In addition to the standard products in our range, there is always the option to develop a custom product with us for a specific application. Thanks to our extensive experience with creating 3D models, we can offer every user a suitable solution for their challenge. Even if that challenge is exclusively insulation.
Practical additions are also possible. Think of loops to make a sleeve flexible, or eyelets that allow products to be stored easily. We think along about what is needed.
