Grinding booth: work safely and reduce noise
On the one hand, Cepro has built up decades of experience with products related to welding activities. On the other hand, we also offer reliable protective equipment for grinding operations. The Sonic grinding booth is a good example. Grinding can sometimes produce loud noise. The recommendation is therefore to enclose this work to reduce disturbance. The grinding booth offers the perfect solution. Request a quotation from us!
What exactly is a grinding booth
It is a professionally enclosed workspace in which grinding operations can be carried out safely and in a controlled manner. Both sparks, dust and noise are reduced. Colleagues or fellow students are protected, as well as the grinder working inside the booth.
Cepro has developed the Sonic Classic grinding booth (available in at least two sizes). It is suitable for industrial environments and for educational institutions where students can safely learn the skills of grinding.
The grinding booth provides protection in two ways
By law, partly determined by occupational health services, the maximum permissible (workplace) noise level for the surrounding area is 80 dB. Cepro’s booths are adjusted so that the external noise level never exceeds this standard. A good grinding booth with noise reduction is therefore primarily intended to protect others who are not directly involved in the specific task.
Secondly, our grinding booths are designed to protect the grinding operator as well. The materials we use to build a grinding booth are fire-resistant so that sparks and hot particles are extinguished immediately. In addition, we equip the space with air ventilation or extraction systems. This way, the operator inhales significantly less dust. A clean workspace improves safety as well as comfort.

What materials are used to build the grinding booth
We are happy to explain each component to demonstrate how detailed and precise we are in assembling our products. This is how we achieve a high level of quality.
Soundproofing: the elements we use consist of a combination of perforated and solid steel sheets, complemented with mineral rock wool. The wall thickness is 50 millimeters.
Coating: we use the standard RAL colors 6011 and 7035, green and light grey respectively. These colors are applied using powder coating.
We aim to achieve a sound reduction value (Rw) of up to 29 dB. This is always tested by TNO in Delft: they are able to confirm this level of sound reduction repeatedly.
Regarding colors: of course, other shades can be discussed to match the unique corporate identity of our customers. A surcharge will apply for this option.

What additions can be made to the grinding booth
We can add mounting plates inside the grinding area. These can be used, for example, to connect gas and electrical outlets. It is also possible to install consoles to support the extraction system. Such a system filters the released fumes from the booth.
Finally, we offer additional built-in features such as inlet grilles and windows to enable supervision of certain activities.
Striving for the most optimal workspace
Cepro brings experience but also continuously looks for ways to improve its products. We thoroughly map these developments and remain competitive in doing so. This applies to both welding and grinding booths.
Our strength lies in the completeness we constantly strive to deliver. In addition to two standard models measuring 2 x 2 meters and 3 x 2 meters, we also produce booths with features such as sliding roofs, sliding doors or specific floors with extra grip and profiles. Sometimes this requires a touch of creativity, but you can leave that to the people at Cepro!
In short: quality never stands still. Our drive and dedication have so far resulted in products with a demonstrably long service life. Thanks to the use of modular systems, the booth is easy to assemble and disassemble in the event of relocation. Such inventive options cannot be found anywhere else.
CEPRO is not only the manufacturer of grinding booths, but we also go beyond that. It starts with a consultation. This leads to a tailored proposal and, if desired, turnkey delivery. This consultation, along with an introduction, is conducted on-site: either at the end customer’s location (a production company, a technical school) or at the dealer’s premises.
At end customers, we can assess the workplace, which ensures better advice and a more accurate quotation. At the dealer’s location, we can provide additional clarification on-site. Our expertise in grinding booths is extensive, and we are happy to explain it.
Once you agree with the quotation provided, we coordinate delivery time and installation directly. The delivery time ranges from 4–5 weeks to 6–7 weeks for the more advanced custom models.
