Sonic sound-insulating cabins

Summa College, secondary vocational school – Eindhoven, The Netherlands
New build for Summa Techniek in BIC – Brainport Industries Campus in Eindhoven.

Summa College wanted a space for the student where they could perform their tasks in a safe environment. It is necessary that other students and teachers also were protected against dangerous welding light and noise nuisance.

Our proposal

Two rows of welding booths built with Cepro Sonic sound absorbing walls. The front of the booths are fitted with a Cepro Bronze-CE welding strips, which filters the harmful light from the welding process. The booths are fitted with special mounting plates on which the gas, oxygen and electricity are mounted. A separate space for grinding was also created. This booth is fitted with a roof, this gives an even better sound absorption.

This project was realized in close cooperation with VLH Lastechniek, a large local supplier of welding and workplace equipment.

Result and opinion

Teachers and students were very happy with the whole fit-out of their welding department. They experience it as a pleasant and safe environment to work in.
